SILHOUETTE Sideboard

The SILHOUETTE sideboard might pretend to be a bookcase, but in fact, its silhouette is that of the city of Porto seen from the opposite bank of the river Douro that it symbolises. Thus, Marco Sousa pays a tribute to his birth city, cleverly changing the size and height of the different sections to emulate the skyline.
Having borrowed various styles from other items in this range, the SILHOUETTE sideboard could easily be the little brother of the ARC sideboard, a lighter, tidier version.
Marco Sousa’s pencil given us here a low, wide sideboard, piquing the curiosity of those drawn to the unusual vertical components. Each family member could lay claim to a different section of the sideboard in which to carefully organise their belongings as each compartment is completely different.
Woody tones, white on blue, each compartment separated by a different colour, sharply horizontal and vertical; open sides add to its inherently smart look.

SILHOUETTE is a very attractive sideboard which lends itself to many different uses, for example a 12-bottle wine cellar, bookshelf, classic storage etc...
One final detail: two thin steel bars provide discreet balance at ground level.
